Museum Visit Booking Request

Some availability for Summer term 2025. 

To request a visit, you need this information:  

  • Activities you wish to book 
  • First and second choice of date 
  • Number of students and adults  
  • Access and special requirements

Complete the booking request form in full. We will send a provisional booking email within five working days. You have one week to reply to confirm your booking.

We will send a booking confirmation email. This confirms your visit. Requests to amend your itinerary or group size must be made in writing at least six weeks before your visit. We will confirm the changes by email.

School cancellations for a confirmed booking received in writing at least six weeks before your visit date. will incur no charge. We cannot guarantee to move bookings after this point and schools may be charged 100% of the visit cost.

Schools will be sent an invoice by email with a 30-day payment term. Payment is by BACS transfer or cheque. Bookings under £100 can be paid by card over the phone. Payment in full is due at least 7 days before your visit date.

It is the responsibility of the person booking to ensure your finance team or relevant colleague has received the invoice and it is paid on time. If payment is not made before your visit, bookings may be cancelled.

Minimum adult – student ratios (not including additional SEND support):

  • Nursery 1:3
  • Reception 1:4
  • KS1 1:4
  • KS2 1:6
  • KS3 1:10
  • KS4+ 1:15

It is essential for schools to meet these ratios to ensure a safe museum visit including adequate supervision for the Mail Rail ride.

Are you a state school primary, secondary or special or a nursery (not privately run) in one of these London boroughs?

Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea and the Cities of London and Westminster.

If so, John Lyon’s Charity offers a Cultural Capital Fund designed to ensure that access to high quality Arts activities are accessible to all children within the above boroughs. Schools can apply for up to £5000. Visit their website to find out more.

Facilitated visits follow a set itinerary from 10.30 – 14.00. If this itinerary doesn’t work for your school, a self-led visit may be more suitable as there is more flexibility with timings.
