Conservation Studio

Our conservators are able to offer conservation services to external clients. This can be an individual item or a larger project, as well as consultation and professional advice based on your individual needs. We can also provide conservation services in tandem with our on-site digitisation studio.

We have extensive experience in book and paper conservation treatments and preservation measures and keep our skills and knowledge up to date.

Our conservators will use their professional judgement and experience to guide you in making the right decisions for your item or collections. They will advise and create a bespoke conservation treatment plan based on a condition assessment. The proposed plan will employ as minimal physical interventions as possible to recover the required function of the items and provide recommendations for storage and handling.

The report, timeframe and budget estimate will be discussed in detail with the client to further explain the work involved.
