Limited edition First Day Covers released to mark the Coronation

First Day Cover commemorating the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla set to be released by The Postal Museum.

Available in the museum shop from 6 May 2023 and for pre-order online from 28 April 2023, the First Day Cover will feature the “HM King Charles III: A New Reign” miniature sheet produced by Royal Mail for the coronation.

The four stamp designs feature newly commissioned wood engravings by British artist Andrew Davidson. The designs for each stamp are: ‘The Coronation’, ‘Diversity and Community’, ‘The Commonwealth’, and ‘Sustainability and Biodiversity’.

The stamps are cancelled with the official handstamp for The Postal Museum and are individually numbered. There are just 150 of these covers available and they will be sold exclusively by The Postal Museum.

The design on the envelope uses the official emblem of the coronation produced by Buckingham Palace. The insert includes an image of The King’s Stamp exhibition, the first and only place the new definitive stamp for HM King Charles III could be seen in person before it was released for general sale on 4 April 2023. The insert describes the significance of this exhibition and is the perfect memento for this royal occasion.

Visitors to The Postal Museum can also see the Coronation stamps on display in The King’s Stamp exhibition from 28 April. This is the only place the stamps can be seen in person before release on 6 May.
