Overview

Delivered by The Jolly Postman Project Officer, the Learning Programme includes:

  • 45-minute Outreach Storytelling session (Tuesdays/Wednesdays)
  • 45-minute Museum workshop (Mondays)

Cost per class: Greater London: £250 plus VAT  |  John Lyons boroughs: £150 plus VAT
Group size: 35 pupils max, up to 3 classes per day
Adult : pupil ratio 1:3 (FDN) 1:4 (KS1) (plus SEND support staff)
FDN Literacy, Understanding the World, Communication and Language
KS1 Literacy, Geography, History, Maths, Art and Design

*The Outreach and Museum visits should be booked within the same half term. We recommend within two weeks.

Outreach visits are available for schools in Greater London up to a 20km radius. (Schools 15-20km may be charged a £100 flat rate travel fee).

A special discounted rate is available to schools in nine John Lyons boroughs:

Barnet, Brent, Camden, City of London, City of Westminster, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington and Chelsea

    Once Upon a bicycle far away (Outreach Storytelling)

    Join Rosie Postie on a lively literacy mission over the hills and far away to help the Jolly Postman deliver letters today. Collect, sort and deliver letters, parcels and postcards for familiar fairy tale characters.

    Packed with intriguing props, including a giant version of the enchanting book this interactive session uses songs, rhyme, mime and movement to bring the story to life and illustrate the magic of sending and receiving letters.

    Cost per class: £180 (+VAT)

  • Rosie, the Jolly Postman storyteller.

    Once upon a penny long ago (Museum Mondays)

    Visit Rosie Postie at The Postal Museum and travel through the centuries and long ago. From the first stamp, to the perils faced by posties long ago follow an intriguing timeline to trace the curious history of the post. Solve riddles and clues to discover the surprising stories behind the earliest letters.

    Filled with opportunities to dress up and get hands on with original objects to make links between the fictional story and the real history of the post.

    Cost per class: £100 (+VAT)

    Option to visited Sorted! The Postal Playspace (additional £50 per class).

The Jolly Christmas Postman

A Christmas themed version of The Jolly Postman storytelling session is available for outreach or museum visits on selected dates in November and December.
