Celebrate your child’s special day at The Postal Museum!

If you are interested in holding a party, please complete our website booking request form, or fill in and return the Birthday Party Booking Form (PDF). Birthday parties must be booked no less than 30 days before the event date.

Our parties cater for 8 year olds and under. This is based on the nature and suitability of the activities in Sorted!, our children’s play area.

Packages are based on 20 children, though you can add up to 10 more at an extra cost. Please refer to the booking form for more information.

Birthday parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Please note we have limited availability for birthday parties during school holidays.

If you would like to hold your party during the week, we will do our best to accommodate. Please enquire at: [email protected]

Each party child receives their own lunch pack containing:

  • Cheddar cheese roll or honey roast ham roll
  • Pot of fresh fruit
  • Bag of crisps
  • Pot of jelly
  • Bottle of milk, orange or apple juice or mini water bottle

These packs are made on site by the Counter Café staff.

You are able to build upon the packages to make your party even more special. Please use our Birthday Party Booking Form to select extras for your party.

No outside food is allowed, other than a birthday cake which must be pre-arranged with us. You can order additional food via our Birthday Party Booking Form.

We will do our best to cater for any special dietary requirement, please let us know upon enquiring.

A member of staff is included for the duration of your party but will need a helping hand of 1 adult per 3 children. At least 4 adults are required to accompany the children if you are planning on riding the train.

Food is not provided for adults unless you have pre-ordered adult catering on the Birthday Party Booking Form.

All extras need to be confirmed 2 weeks before the party. We are unable to refund any last minute cancellations.

You can arrive 1 hour before the party starts to decorate the party room. The party can not start earlier or finish later than stated on the booking form.

Bags and presents can be bought into Sorted! or stored in the bag area if you are riding the train. Bags and presents will need to be transported up to the party room after your slot. The museum also has lockers that you can use to store any belongings. The Postal Museum will not take responsibility for any lost or damaged items.

We have found that parents prefer to decorate the party room themselves – we therefore do not decorate the party room. We can however recommend Blondie & The Bears who can provide full decorating services for you as well as other party services on the day. Check out their website for more information.
