COVID-19 UPDATE 21 December: The Postal Museum is temporarily closed due to COVID-19 from 16 December. Sign up to our newsletter to be the first to find out when we will reopen.

Tier 4 Closure

On 14 December, the UK Government announced that London would enter Tier 3 restrictions from midnight on 16 December followed by Tier 4 from 20 December until further notice. As a result, The Postal Museum has been instructed to close until further notice

Currently, the guidance is that these stricter measures will be reviewed regularly. As such, we are not currently taking bookings for December or January, but you can book tickets for dates in February and March.

If you had tickets to visit us in the affected period, our Box Office will contact you with the next steps and we hope to see you in the Museum soon.

We are contacting customers in waves, if you have a booking with us after 10 January you will not hear from us until the new year, after the next Government review date of Tier levels across the country.

As an independent museum and educational charity, we are particularly vulnerable as we rely on ticketed income. We have received life-line funding from Arts Council England and DCMS from the Culture Recovery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Heritage Emergency Fund to help us through this challenging time, but with every new closure we face new challenges.

Donations are vital for the museum – please consider making a donation today to support the future of The Postal Museum. Alternatively, plan your future visit by booking for 2021, buying vouchers as a gift this festive season or become a member. This will help us enormously and supports us directly.

We will open again soon and until then, we will continue to share stories of extraordinary communication from our archives and collections. Join in on social media wherever you follow us, sign up to our newsletter and  explore our virtual highlights with our growing collection of stories and activities to enjoy from home.
