Throughout this October half term, The Postal Museum invites you to discover surprising characters and wonderful words through the magic of writing. Join us for a fun-filled programme of activities for kids of all ages spanning arts, crafts and illustrator-led workshops.

Drawing inspiration from The Postal Museum’s stories, kids can experiment with calligraphy and papermaking, or create their very own character with help from a storybook illustrator. In the galleries, brilliant pop-up performances will bring exhibits to life, recounting some of the most remarkable tales from our postal past.

This year, The Postal Museum is also joining forces with Bloomsbury Festival to celebrate 100 years of (some) women being granted the right to vote in the UK. On Saturday 20 October, spirited suffragettes Miss Solomon and Miss McLellan will visit the museum to tell visitors about their efforts to post themselves to 10 Downing Street for an audience with the Prime Minister.

  • Activities take place daily from Saturday 20 October to Sunday 28 October
  • Open to children of all ages on a first come, first served basis.
  • A valid ticket for the museum must be held to take part.
  • Visitors should book online to guarantee a visit for what is set to be a fun-filled October half term.
