To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War Chris Taft, Head of Collections at The Postal Museum will present to members a talk highlighting the role of the Postal Service during the Great War.

This talk is based on one delivered in association with the Last Post Exhibition in 2009, but draws on some new research.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view within the Museum one of the original telegrams that announced to the world the ending of hostilities.

There will also be a chance after the talk to chat to Chris about the stories the Museum holds on the First World War and the work presently being undertaken with Royal Mail to remember the contribution of the postal service.
