An introduction to our new website, our new brand and The Postal Museum project from our Director.

This new website represents a landmark achievement for our organisation, and for me personally. Having worked here since 2003 and having been Director for nearly 7 years, we are now only a year away from opening the doors to The Postal Museum and to Mail Rail. And we are now – officially – The Postal Museum.

Our new home will reveal the stories of the service, the people, the vital role postal communication has played over 500 years. Five centuries of social history from an institution that changed the world. The stories within will surprise and enthral. We will spark curiosity, push the boundaries and we aim to become a high class, immersive and innovative experience which everyone will want to visit.

Above all we want our work to change perceptions of the heritage we care for, and all it means. Our new name, our new brand, are the first signs of how we plan to do this. Britain’s rich postal heritage deserves to be seen in a new way, and seen for all it is worth. Watch this space to find out more about The Postal Museum and join us on our journey.
